Hope Always Finds A Way

As I tell people almost daily, TED wasn’t the end, but just another step up the staircase of life. The past two weeks have been the beginning of the next step for me - losing 100 pounds.
I’ve been watching “The Biggest Loser” off and on for several seasons, but after watching my TED talk, like most of us, I focused on the negative, rather than the positive. Where so many saw the glass as “half full,” and were inspired, I saw the glass as “half empty” and became discouraged …

Keeping Out The Bears

Donna Howell-Sickles is one of my favorite artists. When I get my RV/trailer, I’m having one of her prints, or a mash-up of her work, repainted on it….She’s my favorite because her visuals send an unexpected, but very effective message - like this one - “Keeping Out The Bears.” More than an artist, Donna is a storyteller. I often think about what the story in this painting is. There are so many.

I love this photo. Reminds me of the time I did something similar, with a charging bull. I ended up swinging from a pole with a hole in my shirt and the bull rushing way too close to my butt for comfort. I take comfort in the fact his horns missed my jeans. I moved to the rail after that. But was hit by a charging bull - and was knocked off the top of an 8-foot fence and onto my face. Ouch. Got a great shot of the bull …
