People ask me why I enjoy a simple, “bottom of the food chain” existence. Those who ask obviously don’t understand the power of servant leadership or where real power comes from.
A real knowledge of power and the power structure always comes from the bottom up. It’s why it’s a good thing to start your career sweeping floors or in the mail room and move up. Twitter is doomed. DOOMED. Not only do they not have enough people to run it, they have no customer service, are easily hacked and are becoming an increasing threat to users as hackers, spammers, phishers and porn sites are taking over. Passwords are easily compromised and that new friend you’re talking to? Could be anyone from a serial killer to a stalker.
Kids on Twitter are at an increasing risk for predators. People’s homes are being burglarized, more and more marketers are trying to find ways to monetize the application - …

Busy as a Bee

The cliche refers to a honeybee I’m sure, but the bees here in Virginia yesterday were mostly bumblebees. I spent most of the day “smelling the flowers,” and playing with my dog Koko, who’s now almost 10 years old, and in dog years that means she’s passed her life expectancy. Maslow was wrong

Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology that proposes people act or are motivated by a predetermined order of needs. Those needs, physiological, safety, etc are predetermined in order of importance. That order is often depicted as a pyramid consisting of five levels: the lowest level is associated with physiological needs, while the uppermost level is associated with self-actualization needs, particularly those related to identity and purpose.
