I was raised in a family of addicts - alcoholics and a parent addicted to prescription meds. I dated, lived with and was involved with addicts most of my life. I am co-dependent and in recovery for my co-dependency (my tendency to rescue people who refuse to take responsibility for their lives because it enables them to avoid looking at the mess their own life is in. I just watched the movie, “The Lovely Bones.” I think what I liked about it was that the pedophile gets his in the end, but not in the way we expect. It’s proof that vengeance is God’s to carry out. It may take longer than we’d like, and not be the same as we’d have done if it were up to us - but that ultimately there is justice in the universe.
