Libraries - I love ‘em!
I love libraries. I’m in a new one right now - new to me. It’s small, there are babies crying in the children’s section, local folks catching up on the news at the bank of computers. Downstairs houses a “Visitor’s Center” and it’s more like being in someone’s home than in a library. Phones ringing, the murmur of voices, laughter and a definite sense of community here.
I marvel at the fact that without the need for Wi-Fi I’d never have discovered all the libraries I have. There’d be no need for me to get off the road, wander through neighborhoods to the little buildings that house all this knowledge, these books, such personality.
I wish I could stay for the entire day, but I’m covered in hives, my right eye almost swollen shut. So, I’m on my way to a Free Clinic in a neighboring town for steriods and help “quelling the swelling.” A week of Benedryl has only left me sleepy, dopey and feeling drugged. I hate it. But, it’s one of the hazards of being on the road, eating strange food, being stressed and reacting to something in a new environment. Photos later!
